The Kansas Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons promotes responsible
eye care in Kansas.
|
We do this by providing a unified voice to the Kansas Legislature on medical issues that directly or indirectly affect our practices. Our association is active in lobbying for responsible eye care in the state of Kansas and keeping our members updated throughout the year. KSOS is the state affiliate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
The KSEPS offers many opportunities for ophthalmologists to network with other M.D.s and representatives in the medical field. We provide continuing education for ophthalmologists and their medical office staff and offer assistance to the public in locating an ophthalmologist that can treat their particular medical needs.
February 10-11, 2006, KSEPS will again host the annual Winter Focus Meeting in Wichita, Kansas. This two-day seminar offers CME credit to ophthalmologists throughout the state and features coding training on Friday. Saturday's seminar will cover retinal topics. The Winter Focus meeting will be held at the Wichita Airport Hilton in 2006.
Other events include the KSEPS Annual Meeting and Banquet. This banquet is usually held in conjunction with the KU Eyecon Seminar. The 2005 banquet was held June 17, 2005, at the Sheraton Overland Park at 6100 College Boulevard. The special guest speaker was Vernon Mills, MD, Immediate Past President of the Kansas Medical Society. Additional guests included Dr. Cynthia Bradford and Lisa Pinkston of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
The KSEPS partners with Oklahoma and Arkansas to host the Regional Ophthalmology Conference at Table Rock Lake in Missouri. This three-day event offers seminars to ophthalmologists practicing in the Midwest and hosts medical representatives from across the region. The State Regional Meeting is always held at a resort. This year the meeting is scheduled for Sept. 28 - 29 - 30 at Big Cedar Lodge Resort, south of Branson, Missouri.
